These easy baked Italian Meatballs are incredibly tender and juicy and seasoned to perfection! Made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, garlic, parmesan cheese, and parsley, these meatballs are baked in the oven and ready to be served in just 30 minutes.
There is really nothing better than juicy, fork-tender, flavorful meatballs smothered in a delicious sauce with spaghetti on any night of the week! You will love these classic Italian–American style meatballs. They’re super easy to make and take very little time to prepare.
After the meatballs have finished baking, we love serving them in marinara sauce that I usually make a big batch of and freeze. (I need to get you guys the recipe! It’s delish!!) We love a big helping of meatballs and sauce over spaghetti with lots of parmesan. YUM! If you don’t have time to make your own sauce but have a favorite brand, stick with that.
After I moved out from home and got married, I would often just buy frozen meatballs from the store. It wasn’t until I started to make them at home that I realized how easy they are to make, and how incredibly delicious they are when made from scratch. It’s so tempting and easy to buy cooked meatballs, but once you try this recipe, you’ll taste the difference and you’ll never go back to store-bought! 😉
Freezing Meatballs
- Simply cook them as per regular instructions, and let them cool completely before storing them in an airtight container. They will be good for up to 3 months in the freezer. To serve, simply thaw overnight and reheat them in sauce or in the oven for about 8-10 minutes at 350°F.
There’s absolutely nothing more comforting than these tender, flavorful meatballs simmered in marinara sauce, all to be served over spaghetti noodles with a side of my Fluffy Homemade Breadsticks.
Yield: 30 meatballs
INGREDIENTS
- 1lb lean ground beef
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley (or 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley)
INSTRUCTIONS

- In a large mixing bowl, add the meat, egg, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and parsley and mix just until combined. (I use my hands, it’s easier.) Do not overmix.
- Lightly wet your hands with water, and roll the meat mixture into 1 tbsp balls and place them on the baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes, turning half way through. Remove from the oven and drain off any excess fat. Serve with your favorite marinara or pasta sauce and enjoy!
